How does virtual therapy work?

Virtual therapy is conducted using a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform to provide treatment to you conveniently in the privacy of your home; single office space; or other environments that is comfortable for you.  Virtual therapy is an excellent way in which a client and therapist can communicate in real time without being in a physical office space.

Due to legal requirements, clients must verify their physical location at the time of the session, and can be physically located anywhere in NYC or NYS.

How long are sessions? How long will I be in therapy?

Clients may find that weekly therapy sessions will be most effective for building momentum in their treatment.

Sessions range from 45 - 60 minutes, depending on what is determined by your insurance company and our collaboration together.

You will have a designated time each week for your sessions, with flexibility.

The duration of treatment is entirely up to you and how you feel you are doing.  We can discuss moving from biweekly or monthly check-ins as time progresses.

I have insurance.  How can I make the most of my benefits?

I am currently credentialed with insurances paneled with Alma and Headway.

I am an out of network provider with other insurances, meaning that a client is responsible for the full cost of the session. If you have out-of-network benefits, it’s possible that your insurance provider may reimburse you. I will provide you with a receipt in order to submit a claim for reimbursement.

What insurances are accepted?

In my partnership with Alma and Headway, I can offer therapy sessions to clients who want to use their benefits from the following insurance companies: â€‹â€‹

UnitedHealthcare | Oxford Health Plans | Aetna | UMR | Oscar | UHC Student Resources | AllSavers | UHC Harvard Pilgrim Meritain | Nippon | Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield

What questions should I ask my insurance company?

Some helpful questions to ask your insurance company are:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, how much has been met so far?

  • How much will be covered per session?

  • Do I need authorization?

  • How many mental health sessions per year are covered?

  • How do I get reimbursed?

How do I schedule an appointment?

You may use the Connect form on this website to reach out to me about scheduling a 15-minute consultation call.

Additionally, you can schedule an appointment directly through the portal on Alma or Headway.
